IKB Celebrates 31st Convocation, Recognising 97 Graduates in Skills and Vocational Programs

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 August 2025 – Institut Kemahiran Baitulmal (IKB) hosted its 31st Convocation Ceremony today, celebrating the achievements of 97 graduates from a diverse range of skills and vocational programs.

The ceremony, held at the International Youth Centre (IYC), was officiated by Yang Berhormat Senator Dato’ Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Na’im bin Haji Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs). His presence indicate the government’s commitment to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a means to empower young people, especially from the asnaf community, by equipping them with valuable skills for the workforce.

Joining the ceremony were YBhg. Datuk Syed Kamarulzaman bin Syed Kabeer, Chairman of MAIWP; YBhg. Datuk Nizam bin Haji Yahya, Acting Chief Executive Officer of MAIWP; YBrs. Tuan Haji Zuri Zabuddin bin Budiman, Chairman of KPMAIWP; and Dr. Haji Mohammad Firdaus Low bin Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of KPMAIWP. Their presence highlighted the importance of institutional support in nurturing skilled and empowered graduates.

The convocation marked a momentous occasion for IKB, celebrating not only academic achievement but also the dedication, perseverance, and potential of its graduates to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation.

YBhg. Dr. Ruziah Binti Ghazali is a prominent leader in Malaysia’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, recognized with the Special Award for Master Coach in Education Development from TVETecoUSIM. She advocates for Islamic TVET and supports individuals with disabilities, contributing to the book “Nothing is Impossible – Success Stories of Persons with Disabilities.”

Dr. Ruziah holds a PhD in Educational Development from Universiti Putra Malaysia, a Master of Science in Educational Science, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Islamic Studies from the University of Malaya. She is also a licensed Company Secretary and Tax Agent.
