KUALA LUMPUR, 13 May 2025 – Baitulmal Professional College Kuala Lumpur (KPBKL) marked a significant milestone today as it officially merged with Institut Kemahiran Baitulmal (IKB) under a restructuring initiative. Through the restructuring ceremony of Institut Kemahiran Baitulmal (IKB) under the administration of KPBKL, the institution has been rebranded as MAIWP Professional College (KPMAIWP).
This merger represents the commitment of the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) to strengthening human capital development among the asnaf community. It forms part of MAIWP’s strategic transformation plan aimed at enhancing institutional efficiency and offering more relevant and competitive technical and vocational programs for the asnaf community across the Federal Territories.
The historic occasion was highlighted by a symbolic “Breaking the Wall” ceremony between IKB and KPBKL, officiated by YB Senator Dato’ Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Na’im bin Haji Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs). The act symbolized the unification of both institutions in their shared mission to nurture a more competitive and empowered asnaf generation.
The ceremony also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MAIWP and KPBKL, represented respectively by Mr. Mohd Fauzi bin Abidin, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Management) of MAIWP, and Associate Professor Dr. Hj. Mohammad Firdaus Low Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of KPBKL. The signing was witnessed by YBrs. Tuan Syed Kamarulzaman bin Syed Kabeer, Chairman of MAIWP and YBrs. Tuan Haji Zuri Zabuddin bin Budiman, Chairman of KPBKL.
