KUALA LUMPUR – MAIWP Professional College (KPMAIWP) today celebrated the achievements of 479 graduates from its certificate and diploma programmes at the MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The ceremony was officiated by YB Senator Dato’ Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Na’im bin Haji Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs). Also in attendance were Datuk Syed Kamarulzaman bin Syed Kabeer, Chairman of MAIWP; Datuk Nizam bin Yahya, Chief Executive Officer of MAIWP; Tuan Haji Zuri Zabuddin bin Budiman, Chairman of KPMAIWP; and Associate Professor Dr. Haji Mohammad Firdaus Low bin Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of KPMAIWP.
A key highlight of KPMAIWP’s 18th Convocation Ceremony was the presentation of special awards to 14 outstanding graduates. These included the Minister’s Gold Medal Award, the MAIWP Chairman’s Award, the KPMAIWP Chairman’s Awards (two recipients), and the Board of Directors Awards presented to ten top-performing diploma graduates.
The Minister’s Gold Medal Award was presented to Abdul Aziz Safwan bin Abdullah, a graduate of the Diploma in Halal Industry Management (DPIH). He received a sponsored Umrah package from Ikhlas.Com Travel Sdn. Bhd. along with a commemorative plaque from KPMAIWP.
In his officiating address, Dato’ Setia Mohd Na’im said, “MAIWP’s commitment to strengthening educational opportunities for the asnaf community through institutions such as KPMAIWP aligns closely with the Government’s aspiration to cultivate a MADANI society that is knowledgeable, ethical, and competitive. This year marks a significant milestone, with the consolidation of two institutions Baitulmal Institute of Skills Training (IKB) and Baitulmal Professional College Kuala Lumpur (KPBKL) into a unified and robust entity now known as MAIWP Professional College (KPMAIWP).”
Associate Professor Dr. Mohammad Firdaus also extended his congratulations, saying, “Well done to all graduates on this remarkable achievement.”
The ceremony reaffirmed KPMAIWP’s continued dedication to empowering the socio-economic advancement of the Muslim community, particularly asnaf students, through comprehensive educational initiatives and support provided by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP).
