Kolej Profesional MAIWP (KPMAIWP) continues to expand its international outreach through a new partnership initiative with Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Pontianak, Indonesia. On 18 October 2025, a delegation from KPMAIWP visited IAIN Pontianak to explore areas of cooperation that support educational inclusion, talent development, and academic excellence within the ASEAN region.
The discussion centered on several key areas of collaboration, including scholarships for underprivileged students, student and staff exchange programmes, joint research, and academic initiatives in Islamic and professional education. This aligns closely with KPMAIWP’s mission to develop competent Muslim professionals and uplift the socio-economic well-being of the community through quality, values-based education.
The prospective partnership also reflects KPMAIWP’s commitment to regional collaboration in line with Malaysia being the Chair for ASEAN and in support of Malaysia MADANI’s vision of empowering youth through education and skills development. By establishing international linkages such as this, KPMAIWP aims to provide broader exposure and mobility opportunities for its students and staff while contributing to the exchange of knowledge and best practices between Malaysia and Indonesia.
Both institutions are expected to formalize their cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to be signed in Kuala Lumpur. This MoU will mark the beginning of structured initiatives that strengthen academic ties, promote mutual growth, and enhance the visibility of KPMAIWP as a regional centre for Islamic and professional education.
Through this partnership, KPMAIWP reaffirms its commitment to advancing inclusive, globally relevant education that nurtures excellence, ethics, and service to the ummah.
