KUALA LUMPUR, July 23, 2026 – Kolej Profesional MAIWP (KPMAIWP) reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing compassionate and volunteer-minded students through the organization of the program “Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and Society: Inseparable,” held today in collaboration with the Malaysian Association for the Blind (PERTIS).

Organized as part of the course requirements for MPU2113 Appreciation of Ethics and Civilization, the program focused on students’ active involvement as volunteers to raise awareness and foster proper social etiquette when interacting with visually impaired individuals. Throughout the event, participants took part in the session “Getting to Know the Visually Impaired” and engaged in guiding simulations, offering students practical experience in assisting visually impaired individuals to navigate safely. The event concluded with the presentation of souvenirs by Ms. Rohayu Yusoff, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Academic & Research), as a token of appreciation for the partnership.

The collaboration between KPMAIWP and PERTIS builds on a well-established relationship, following two previous successful joint initiatives: Sulam Dakwah and the PEP Volunteers for the PERTIS Annual General Meeting.

Organizing programs of this nature not only provides students with practical exposure, but also boosts their confidence in leading community development initiatives. Furthermore, it reflects KPMAIWP’s active role in expanding strategic networks with external organizations, showcasing the college’s commitment to being an inclusive and socially conscious institution.
